Kingfisher Church

Project Summary

Website design for a Cambridgeshire church. I created a theme with clients colour scheme and requirements. The website was primarily updated to incorporate podcasting abilities.

Sermon Podcasting

With the onset of the Covid-19 lockdown I was contacted to implement podcasting capabilities on this church website. The church already had a WordPress based website but they were using an old now unsupported plugin called “Sermon Browser”

I moved the sermon database to a newer plugin which supports podcasting. Once properly set up I registered the podcast on both iTunes and Google Podcasts. Having a podcast set up means that people can easily listen to recent sermons on their phone or other audio device.

I created custom templates for displaying individual sermons and the sermon library. Both templates incorporate podcast subscription buttons to make this process clear and easy.

Abi Spendlove

Abi is a visual artist based in Bedfordshire. She had an existing website but needed to contact her web developer each time she wanted to add new works to her site. She needed to move to a content management system which would allow her to add new works herself.

Abi’s work is visually striking and she wanted a very clean white design for the website to allow the works to speak for themselves. I created a theme based on her requirements and she can easily add new works.

Her portfolio of works is split into two categories with featured works displaying on the homepage.

I arranged hosting, SSL certification and I help her with google analytics, search console and advised on some search optimisation.

It was vital that the website work well on mobile as well as desktop. The design is fully responsive. I minimise unnecessary code for faster load times.
